Telegraph House ~ About Meet Your HostsPreviously they owned "Billy's Deli Restaurant" and "Jon & Vicci's Snack Bar" in London, Ontario, the summer of 2004 opened the Pineapple Dining Room to the public. After five years of serving here in Port and over 25 altogether, Jon and Vicci have given up the restaurant business. They still love to cook and now host their Inn guests to wonderfull dinners by the fire or alfresco dining on the side porch with great summer bbq's. They will still host small dinner parties (ten or less) in the 'new' dining room or small 'events with tents' on the side lawn. Jon has great expertise in preparing the most elegant and delicious meals with superb skill and ease. He focuses on the true Canadiana with a strong hint of the Mennonite and lakeside country flair. Jon and Vicci are members of the organic CSA farm in Sparta and try to use local ingredients whenever possible. With all his dishes Jon uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients. His great love, after Vicci of course, are the foods of Provence in Southern France, Greece and Portugal where he has studied the local cuisine and preparation. He may surprise you with a "Special of the Day" featuring something very tasty from that sunny region. Vicci has her heart totally dipped in the sweet finishing to any meal. Her desserts are world renowned and bring back those who have enjoyed them year after year. Pies, tarts and cakes combine with Jon's main dishes with "uncanny" complimentary results.
